Set in the 1800’s Henry’s First Horse is a family oriented book telling of the trials and tribulations of a single father and his son in an outback gold mining town in Australia.
Pongo is an accomplished bushman, experienced in the breaking in and training of bullocks and horses and shares his skill and survival knowledge with his son and others.
The author shares these techniques and methods with the reader, as Henry and his horse Magic embark on a series of adventures with his new friend Lyvia. The capture and training of wild horses, the adventure of taking them to town for sale with Lyvia’s Aunty and the meeting with a rogue who lays claim to one of the horses makes for a heart warming tale of the courage and determination of our ancestors in times past. The vivid descriptions of the bush and animals of the Australian outback and the believable characters truly allows the reader relive those times past and become part of the story. Henry’s First Horse is the first of a series.

Author Bio

Terry is an experienced horseman, now retired, keen to pass on his knowledge and methods in a unique and easily understood way, told within a heart warming adventure story of a young lad set in the 1800’s in Australia. Experienced in bush lore and survival Terry has learned many things from the various jobs he has held throughout his life. He is keen to pass this on in a unique and rewarding way.
