DNEVNIK VODONOŠE / THE DIARY OF AN AQUARIAN
STANKA GJURIĆ
Short description
FROM PREV. REVIEWS -
“Stanka Gjurić is the first contemporary Croatian writer who employed a well-tailored method for the purposes of promoting her poetry –a “do-it-yourself exhibit” or poetic illustration containing photographs of her shy body in the nude published in the Croatian popular press. The quality of her texts mocks exactly those readers who expect and only take pleasure in the author's disregard for the canons of poetry, unrestrained pleasure-seeking, eccentricity and authorial indiscretion...” (Sead Begović).
“...Even now the fragments are real, devoted citations in lyrical transformations. Some of the collage survives. Exactly this is painful because it reveals the weak and unprotected inner side that remains somnolent...” (Vlado Gotovac).
“...The poet does not only live love, she does not only question it, but she constantly analyses and interprets it as well. This is why her spirit is the mirror of her body in which she observes all that is...” (Zlatko Tomičić).
